One of the renewable energy companies that we partner with is currently recruiting inspection technicians. This skilled role involves carrying out maintenance work on wind turbines in the southern North Sea and offshore Europe.

Experienced Technicians

We are looking for people who have experience working with offshore wind turbines. In order to fulfil this role competently and safely, we would expect our candidate to be familiar with the following equipment:

• Cranes: In particular, the specialist lifting technology developed by Hiab and Palfinger.
  
• Powered Hoists: Experience with Skyman or Skyform tower hoists.
  
• Tower Internals: Manoeuvring yourself safely up and down turbines using Avanti lifts will be an essential part of the job. 
  
• Fire Extinguishers: We expect all of our technicians to be trained in the use of fire safety equipment.
  
• ICM and Latchways: In order to work safely at height, technicians must be experienced at using safety equipment including Latchways fall protection.

GWO Certification

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) was founded by leading wind power industry companies in 2009. The organisation trains individuals to work safely in the wind industry. Their mission is to improve the Health and Safety awareness of everyone working on wind turbines. We would expect applicants for the role of Wind Turbine Inspection Technician to have completed the following GWO certificates:

• Sea Survival
  
• Manual handling
  
• Working at height
  
• First Aid
  
• Fire awareness
