Senior Geophysical Engineer

Our client is a major marine survey contractor, working on major offshore energy and marine projects globally.
We are recruiting on their behalf for Senior Geophysical Engineers mobilising to vessels from your home base as required to supervise hydrographic and geophysical survey teams.
Duties will include:
You will be responsible for supervising teams of geophysical engineers in the maintenance and deployment of in sea equipment including producing HSE documentation. Ensuring suitable levels of equipment and consumables are available. Liaising with Party Chief, Client and onshore management as well as supervising quality control of seismic, SONAR and magnetometer data acquisition.
Other duties include supervising and operating powered electric/hydraulic winches and cranes, coordinating deployments of heavy swinging loads and maintaining deployment systems (winches, hydraulic booms etc,) as well as undertaking installations, updates and configuration of both equipment specific software and hardware on Windows XP and 7, Solaris and Redhat.
You will have a qualification in electronic/mechanical engineering or a degree in numerate, (preferably engineering) discipline or be qualified by experience. You must hold a level 3 certificate/diploma in Geophysical Engineering and have practical experience of Electronic, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical, HV, Data and IT infrastructure (Windows and Linux). You will be proficient in the use of test equipment, and experienced in cable termination (coax, data, fibre). You should also have experience in a supervisory/senior role.
This is a seagoing role, so experience of working at sea on vessels will be advantageous, but not essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering an attractive salary and package including uplifts for a guaranteed number of offshore days and more. As a home-based role you can be located anywhere in the UK.
