Help shape the quality standards of one of the UK's most significant nuclear projects while ensuring safe, compliant and successful commissioning delivery.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Quality professional to join a major nuclear programme and play a critical role throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project and delivery teams, you will help ensure that the right activities are completed to the right standard, supporting quality excellence across commissioning activities. Joining a large and highly respected Quality function, you will have the opportunity to influence quality strategy, contractor performance and long-term project success on one of Europe's most complex infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure project quality requirements are achieved throughout contract award, design, procurement, manufacture, testing, shipping, installation, commissioning and contract close-out.
- Review, approve and monitor Contractor Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs) across the supply chain.
- Identify supply chain audit requirements and coordinate auditors to deliver effective assurance activities.
- Drive timely resolution of audit findings and quality-related actions.
- Produce and maintain Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) for allocated contracts.
- Ensure effective implementation of contractual quality requirements including GQAS, LTQR Specifications, Quality Release Certificates and Inspection & Test Plans.
- Provide guidance to contractors on quality assurance arrangements, LTQR strategies and Quality Related Activities.
- Lead Lifetime Quality Record (LTQR) reviews and oversee progressive record delivery from contractors.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality performance and compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Quality Assurance or Quality Management role.
- Experience in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, engineering, defence or major infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of contractor quality oversight and supply chain assurance.
- Experience reviewing CQAPs, PQCPs and inspection requirements.
- Knowledge of quality governance, audits and compliance programmes.
- Proven stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication and influencing abilities.
- Ability to challenge, coach and support teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of commissioning activities would be highly advantageous.
