Area Planner

Location: Bridgwater, , UK Type: Permanent Vacancy Reference: 26-00239

Play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery strategy of one of the UK's most significant nuclear infrastructure projects while influencing outcomes at a programme-wide level.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Area Planner to take on a highly strategic position within a complex, large-scale nuclear project. Working closely with senior delivery leadership, you will drive integrated planning, challenge project performance, and help ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive an area-based planning framework aligned from Level 1 through Level 5 reporting.
  • Develop and maintain integrated baseline schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Coordinate planning activities across delivery teams, contractors and supply chain partners.
  • Analyse project risks, opportunities and schedule impacts to support informed decision-making.
  • Challenge delivery performance and schedule reporting to improve project outcomes.
  • Produce accurate planning and performance reports for key stakeholders.
  • Lead schedule sequencing strategies to optimise project delivery.
  • Manage trend and change processes, including performance analysis and reporting.
  • Integrate supply chain schedules and planning data into the overall programme.
  • Ensure compliance with project planning standards, procedures and governance requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' planning experience on major projects.
  • Proven experience within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, oil & gas or large infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of integrated planning methodologies and project controls.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 expertise.
  • Experience using Synchro and 4D planning tools.
  • Knowledge of EPC project delivery within a UK environment.
  • Background coordinating multiple stakeholders and complex interfaces.
  • Site-based experience involving mechanical, electrical or major installation activities.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient approach with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
