Appropriate Qualifications

There are two important qualifications that it is essential that you gain if you are hoping to apply for work as a Wind Turbine Technician:

• Full GWO certification. There are twenty-seven training providers offering Global Wind Organisation certification – based at centres throughout the UK. They offer basic technical and safety training including Working at Height and Sea Survival.  
  
• Siemens level 2/3. The Siemens training centre focusses on equipping technicians who are new to the industry with the skills they need to assemble and maintain turbines on- and offshore.
  

If you want a career as an engineer working on wind turbines then these qualifications will provide you with the basics of what you’ll need to know. These represent the bare minimum of what we would expect from a turbine technician. For more senior positions, further qualifications would be required.

Appropriate Experience

We are currently recruiting for experienced technicians, so we’ll expect a candidate to be able to demonstrate that they have experience working on wind turbines.
