Junior Surveyor - Nuclear Energy

About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Surveyor to support surveying activities on a major nuclear energy project at Hinkley Point C. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career surveying professional to gain valuable experience within a complex, highly regulated project environment.
Working alongside experienced surveyors, you will develop your technical skills while contributing to the safe, accurate and high-quality delivery of critical infrastructure.
 
 
Key Responsibilities

• Support the Surveyor with a range of site-based survey operations.
• Operate surveying equipment, including Leica instruments, under appropriate instruction.
• Assist with Total Station, Digital Level, Scanner and GPS survey activities.
• Carry out basic survey data processing and quality checks.
• Ensure surveying activities meet required schedules, specifications and quality standards.
• Review relevant specifications and project documentation before undertaking activities.
• Prepare surveillance reports and technical documentation for approval.
• Work collaboratively with the wider project and surveying teams.

 
 
Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic knowledge of surveying techniques and principles.
• Experience using or familiarity with surveying instruments.
• Understanding of basic survey data processing and quality checking.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail and a results-focused approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively and contribute positively within a team.
• Flexible, resilient and able to prioritise work under pressure.
• Previous experience within a large industrial or major project environment is advantageous.
