QUALITY ENGINEER - NUCLEAR ENERGY

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a growing nuclear team delivering major programmes across the UK and Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, supporting safe, high-quality delivery while developing your career within a collaborative and technically driven environment.
You will work closely with project teams, suppliers and contractors, helping maintain rigorous quality standards across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Project Quality Control Plans and Quality Execution Plans.
  • Ensure suppliers and contractors meet quality, contractual and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, surveillance activities, witness points and testing programmes.
  • Support supplier audits and monitor corrective actions.
  • Review manufacturing, construction and quality documentation.
  • Maintain quality records, including LTQRs, ITPs and handover documentation.
  • Monitor non-conformances, quality issues and lessons learned.
  • Report quality performance and metrics to project stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers, contractors and inspection bodies.

 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in quality assurance/control within nuclear or another safety-critical industry.
  • Strong QA/QC experience across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 19443, IAEA GSR-2 and quality management systems.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supply-chain quality.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • HNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, science or a related discipline.
