Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to make a lasting impact? This is an exceptional opportunity to define and deliver a global engineering strategy, lead high-performing international teams, and drive innovation across complex, bespoke electrical engineering projects. Working at the forefront of the transformer industry, you'll influence business growth, champion technical excellence, and help build a future-ready engineering function supporting customers across the UK and internationally.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the global engineering strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple international sites.
  • Drive engineering standardisation while maintaining capability for bespoke customer solutions.
  • Establish robust engineering governance, standards, and best practices.
  • Champion engineering transformation through digitalisation and process improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership across product design, validation, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Product Management, and Supply Chain.
  • Develop engineering talent, succession plans, and capability programmes.
  • Support strategic customer engagements and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvements in quality, efficiency, and engineering performance.

 
What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is desirable.
  • Significant senior engineering leadership experience within transformers or heavy electrical equipment.
  • Proven success leading global, multi-site engineering organisations.
  • Deep technical knowledge of transformer design and engineered products.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.
  • Experience delivering engineering transformation and organisational change.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 40%). This role can be based in the EU or UK – alternate travel.
