Technician – Electrical
Heysham, onsite full time

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Carry out routine electrical maintenance across nuclear power station plant and equipment.
  • Perform testing, inspection and fault-finding activities to maintain operational reliability.
  • Support refurbishment, modification and plant improvement projects.
  • Assist with planned outage activities across the UK nuclear fleet.
  • Follow approved maintenance procedures, work instructions and RAMS.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused and results-driven working environment.

 
 
Qualifications & Requirements
 

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
  • Proven experience working as a Technician or in a similar engineering role.
  • Experience within a highly regulated or safety-critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering health and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of plant, machinery and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions.
  • Competent using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Lifting and Moving Loads is advantageous.
