Senior Project Manager - Mechanical

This is a standout opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Mechanical to play a pivotal role in a nationally significant nuclear programme. You will lead complex engineering scopes, influence key decisions, and work alongside industry-leading professionals delivering critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of turbine contract scope and programme interfaces
  • Develop and execute robust project strategies aligned to programme plans
  • Manage contracts to ensure delivery on time, budget, safety, and quality
  • Monitor progress against milestones and provide stakeholder reporting
  • Identify, manage, and resolve risks and project issues proactively
  • Oversee detailed scheduling (Level 3 and 4) and ensure alignment
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams
  • Apply Earned Value Management and continuous improvement principles
  • Ensure delivery of all defined outputs and documentation
  • Drive strong stakeholder engagement and communication

 
 
Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering complex engineering or construction projects
  • Background in regulated industries (nuclear, energy, infrastructure preferred)
  • Strong project, financial, and change management expertise
  • Experience managing contractors and large-scale project teams
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts advantageous
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage risk, schedules, and programme controls
  • Degree in engineering, construction, or related field desirable
  • Turbine or EPR design experience beneficial but not essential
