Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous, notified, and planned surveillance to ensure works are constructed in accordance with contract requirements
- Notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance requests and contribute to issuing non-conformance reports
- Proactively communicate with site teams to ensure timely surveillance reporting
- Contribute surveillance information to support key performance indicators
- Identify potential quality issues early to enable proactive mitigating actions
- Support temporary measures to maintain safety and quality standards, preventing works from halting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Mechanical engineering, materials, or welding qualifications, or equivalent vocational training and experience
- Broad knowledge of the engineering construction industry, materials, trades methods, and legal requirements
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (knowledge of French is an advantage)
- Proven experience writing accurate and concise diaries relevant to the form of contract
- Proven track record of working within a large construction team
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards under pressure
- Working knowledge of British and European standards, including RCC-M, BS EN, and ASME
