Structural Lead Engineer

This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to take ownership of complex offshore projects, driving technical excellence from concept through to installation and life extension. You will play a pivotal role influencing design decisions, leading engineering teams, and engaging directly with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead structural engineering delivery across offshore platform projects
  • Act as technical authority, approving calculations, analyses, and designs
  • Manage planning, resourcing, and execution of engineering scopes
  • Perform and review advanced structural analyses (fatigue, seismic, dynamic, installation)
  • Ensure compliance with API, DNV, ISO, and AWS standards
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and technical governance activities
  • Coordinate multi-discipline interfaces and subcontract engineering scopes
  • Engage with clients, IVBs, and classification bodies
  • Support fabrication, loadout, transportation, and installation phases
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers within project teams

 
Qualifications & Requirements

 

  • Degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical or related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership preferred
  • Significant offshore oil & gas or energy sector experience
  • Strong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, subsea)
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Expertise in SACS (essential) and other FEA tools (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of industry design codes and standards
  • Experience in client-facing technical roles
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced project environments
