Project Engineer

Play a leading role in delivering critical engineering projects that directly shape site performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate embedded operatives and subcontractors to deliver project work safely and efficiently.
  • Plan, prioritise, and schedule project tasks to meet client requirements and service standards.
  • Ensure all contractors follow company and site specific safety procedures.
  • Produce accurate permits, reports, and documentation within required timescales.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess works, and support pricing activities.
  • Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions in line with defined processes.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support pre job briefs and contribute ideas to improve project delivery and team performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members and subcontractors to uphold high operational standards.
  • Carry out risk assessments, method statements, and point of work safety checks.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Demonstrable Project Engineering experience within a technical or industrial environment.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Confident communicator able to work effectively across all levels.
  • Sound understanding of H&S, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and solve practical engineering problems.
  • Experience working with budgets and project cost control.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and relevant information management systems.
  • Comfortable leading teams and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and out of hours support when required.
