Introduction
We are recruiting for a talented Project Manager to join our clients Engineering and Technical Solutions team at Heysham Power Station.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Managers are accountable to the client PPM for successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned projects. The Project Manager sets the project execution strategy in agreement with the client PPM and uses a cross-functional project team to deliver the project safely in line with company policies and procedures, achieving established goals and objectives within the agreed baseline. This role has no direct reports.
- The role will be based at Heysham Power Station and will require occasional business travel to other UK sites/stations. In this role you will report to our company Operations Manager but be accountable for project delivery directly to the client.
- Good communication and organisational skills are a must with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focused tempered with a team-centred approach.
- Everyone working in our team will have a proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related subject, with preferred Chartership.
- Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) formal project management qualification or equivalent, with expertise in modern project management techniques for complex, multi-functional organisations – desirable.
- Thorough understanding of engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction, installation/commissioning management, and commercial contracting.
- Familiarity with Safety Cases, Health and Safety, and Environment legislation including Construction Design and Management, and actions for achieving compliance.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and control, with experience in managing commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, ideally across complex, multi-discipline environments, and leading integrated project teams.
- Experience in estimating, cost control, planning, and commercial awareness, including preparation of business cases and funding papers.
- Proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and tools for estimating, scheduling, programming, risk, and Earned Value analysis.
- Experience in Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites is preferred, but not essential.
