The UK is situated in a prime location to harness the potential of renewable energy sources such as the wind. As of the end of June 2016, there were more than 6,850 turbines operating and broken down this equates to 8,841 megawatts of onshore capacity and 5,098 megawatts of offshore capacity. With new offshore wind farm developments in the pipeline, renewables has become a growing and exciting industry to be a part of.

Our recruiters are currently working with a major engineering company who operate in the offshore energy sector. Due to a strong forward order book and busy project workload, they are seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to work out of the company’s offices in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The successful candidate will be solely responsible for:

  • All project cost and change control activities from inception till close
  • Setting up, maintaining and producing analysis of project cost reports and associated documentation
  • Management of project change control

Ideally our client is looking for a candidate who can demonstrate strong multi-disciplinary experience on major EPC projects – ideally in the oil and gas or renewables sector. They should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of commercial issue, including a sound knowledge of Cost Control and estimating principles.  They should be qualified to a minimum of an HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a similar subject. Membership of a professional institute, such as the Association of Cost Engineers, is also desirable.


In return the successful candidate can expect to receive a permanent position will a leading client in the sector. A salary of between £45,000 and £50,000 is on offer, depending on experience, as well as an excellent remuneration package.
